Tungsten Replicator (http://code.google.com/p/tungsten-replicator/) is a popular replacement for MySQL replication. It has now become a mature and robust product, with an easy-to-use installer. While installing a simple master/slave topology was made as easy as it could possibly be since version 2.0.3, installing complex topologies was still a matter for advanced users only.

Not any more! Continuent has released a package of cookbook recipe scripts, which make installation of multi-master, star, fan-in, and all-masters a matter of minutes. Actually, once you have configured your cluster, installing one or the other topology requires just seconds.

This webinar describes the new installation tools, and shows quick demos on how to install and test each topology, with just a few keystrokes.

newbie here..

I would require few details.

1) We would require to configure High-Availabilty.
2) We would require Mysql Scalabity.

Can we get this on Mysql Statndard edition or should we go for Enterprise edition?

Is there any way to download to test the above points in trial version?
High availability is about more than making sure that apps can get to your data even if there is a failure. How about when you are upgrading your database schema? What if you need to add memory to a database server or reconfigure/restart MySQL? If your apps want to read data from a MySQL slave, how can you be sure they are not reading stale data without re-coding your apps?

What if your main data center takes a hit? And what if you want better MySQL stability, performance, and simplified administration, but you cannot or do not want to re-write your apps or convert your current data to run with a proprietary MySQL re-write or a promised new version of MySQL?

During this webinar, we will go through a detailed case study to show you how you can start with the MySQL version/build (MySQL Community 5.x, MySQL Enterprise 5.x, MariaDB, Percona, etc.), along with the data and apps that you already have, and iteratively build up a highly-available, scalable, multi-site database infrastructure where you can perform complex data management tasks with single commands.

You will see live demos of the following:
- Transition from MySQL 'native' replication to a Continuent Tungsten cluster with zero app downtime
- Reading consistent data from slaves without app changes (SmartScale)
- Schema upgrade on the master database server with no app downtime (switch operation)
- Automated fail over when a MySQL database server crashes
- Recovery of a failed master to a fully operational slave with a single command
- Switch of database operations to a remote site with no app down time (geo-clustering, cross-site 'switch' operation).

The best MySQL HA solution gets even better -- Introducing new Continuent Tungsten 1.5 (no replies)

The best MySQL high availability solution on the market gets even better! Continuent is happy to announce immediate availability of Continuent Tungsten 1.5 (http://www.continuent.com/software).

New Continuent Tungsten 1.5 offers significant improvements that help you to deploy cost effective, highly-available MySQL clusters fast, including:

- Easy Installation: One-step command to deploy an entire Tungsten cluster in minutes, either in your data center or in the cloud, with automatic checking of all prerequisites
- Disaster Recovery Sites: Link Tungsten clusters on your primary and backup sites, then switch between them with a single command
- Improved Handling of Failures: Avoid unnecessary master failover and recover easily from network problems
- Fast Recovery: Repair a wide range of master or slave failures with a single command.

Continuent Tungsten does not require any application changes, and runs on all flavors (MySQL Community, MySQL Enterprise, MariaDB and Percona Server) and all versions of MySQL (5.0, 5.1, 5.5). When you review HA options, please note that this 'no-changes' promise is really not true with many other MySQL HA solutions currently available.

If you are currently using MySQL replication (no automatic master failover), MMM (http://www.xaprb.com/blog/2011/05/04/whats-wrong-with-mmm), MHA (http://palominodb.com/node/167) or DRBD (50% performance penalty), you really should consider Continuent Tungsten instead. Ask us about our special promotion for replacing your current HA solution with Continuent Tungsten!

- Transition from MySQL 'native' replication to a Tungsten Enterprise cluster with zero app downtime

Marketo, Inc. is the revenue performance management company, transforming how marketing and sales teams of all sizes work - and work together - to accelerate predictable revenue. Marketo faced the same data management problems as many 24x7 SaaS and online businesses that are build on MySQL:

- quick recovery from failures,
- seamless maintenance, and
- efficient hardware utilization.

In this webinar, Nick Bonfiglio, VP of Operations at Marketo and Continuent team describe how Marketo solved these problems with Tungsten Enterprise and an innovative storage architecture based on NetApp. Since implementing Tungsten Enterprise, Marketo's business has grown to handle over 25 terabytes of data and 500 million database transactions per day.

We will
- describe the problems Marketo wanted to solve,
- examine the architecture Marketo developed, and
- show how Tungsten Enterprise works in that architecture.

We will cover the issues that arise naturally in large deployment, including migration from old architectures, using storage snapshots for fast DBMS recovery, handling maintenance on live applications, setting up application load balancing, and tips on MySQL configuration for multi-terabyte databases. Finally, we will provide a live demo of Tungsten Enterprise so you can see for yourself how it works.

New Versions of Devart dotConnect ADO.NET Providers with Fluent Mapping Support and Enhanced Entity Developer Released (no replies)

dotConnect is a state-of-the-art database connectivity solution built over ADO.NET architecture and a development framework with a number of innovative technologies. In order to give more to its users, Devart releases new versions of ADO.NET data providers, offering greatly enhanced Entity Developer 4.1 with multiple improvements in usability and Fluent Mapping support as parts of updated dotConnect for Oracle 6.50, dotConnect for MySQL 6.50, dotConnect for PostgreSQL 5.50, dotConnect for SQLite 3.50 products

dotConnect features high performance data providers for the major databases and offers a complete solution for development database-related applications and web sites. Available for Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite, and SQL Server, dotConnect products can be used in all areas of modern application development: web applications and services, windows forms applications, mobile and enterprise development. dotConnect ensures high performance, perfect stability, flawless security, wide featurelist, and reliable support.

Devart is delighted to announce the release of the new versions of ADO.NET data providers that offer new greatly enhanced Entity Developer 4.1 with new visual capabilities, and Fluent Mapping support.

Fluent Mapping Support for LinqConnect models

In the new versions of Devart dotConnect ADO.NET providers for Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQLite we have added Fluent Mapping support for LinqConnect models. Fluent mapping provides the following advantages over XML and attribute mapping:

- Unlike attribute mapping, fluent mapping does not modify entity classes, allowing them not to be persistence-aware.

- Application code performs mapping, so mapping is always checked for errors during compilation.

- Mapping can be easily modified at run-time. For example, different DBMS can be used for persistence depending on the application settings.

- Fluent mapping allows you to employ the Code First (Code Only) design approach and to get rid completely of designing models or writing XML mappings.

Entity Developer Enhancements

* Extended Enum Type Support

The new version of Entity Developer supports ENUM types introduced in the Entity Framework June 2011 CTP release and contains other numerous enhancements. The application provides the drag-and-drop mechanism allowing to move enum types from the Model Explorer window on to the diagram's surface, and the Find in diagrams function that enables the user to easily locate enum types on the diagram. Properties of the Enum types as well as those of their members can be conveniently set and modified in the new Enum Type Editor, provided in this latest version. Subsequently, these properties are displayed in the Properties windows and can be edited directly in that window.

* Enhanced Visual Capabilities

Major improvements in the usability and user-friendliness of the application include entity shape coloring, selection-driven highlighting, application and diagram skins. The entity shape coloring function allows the user to define a custom coloring for any entity present on the diagram by changing its Shape Color property. The selection-driven functionality is intended to improve the readability of complex diagrams by visually indicating various interrelations between different entities present on a particular diagram. The general look and feel of the application is further modernized with sets of skins for the diagram.

There is no doubt that dotConnect users will benefit from multiple enhancements that come with the new version of the ADO.NET data providers. Improved Entity Developer and Fluent Mapping support for LinqConnect models will facilitate the process of application development, making it faster and easier.

MySQL is great for front-end web facing applications. Oracle has proven itself in the demanding back-end data warehouse and reporting solutions. But how to bridge MySQL and Oracle together without paying an arm and a leg for Oracle's GoldenGate replication solution?

In this webcast we'll describe how to design real-time cross-database replication using Tungsten Replicator. We will cover some of the pitfalls and corner cases like SQL dialect differences, data types, character sets, MySQL and Oracle peculiarities. With some expert help from Continuent, Tungsten Replicator makes implementation fast and real time replication operations reliable, even for the high volume environment.

Lee Margulin, Database Administrator at Zappos.com, will speak about how Zappos uses Tungsten to replicate data between Oracle and MySQL. Established in 1999, Zappos.com has quickly become a leader in online apparel and footwear sales by striving to provide shoppers with the best possible service and selection, with gross merchandise sales exceeding $1B annually. Zappos.com currently stocks millions of products from over 1000 clothing and shoe brands. Zappos.com was recognized in 2009 and 2010 by FORTUNE MAGAZINE as one of the "100 BEST COMPANIES TO WORK FOR".
