ah ok. i think i understand now.
did you try some dir like "R:\mysql\data" on windows?
i guess you have to use a link like that:
"\\servername\path\mysql\data"
where "\\servername\path" equals "R:\"
but (i'm not shure what is best) maybe you have to use / or \\ instead of \ (i use / since i have linux).
