I guess maybe a simpler way of stating this same question is what security is provided by Mysql if I can open any table (".myd") file and see the data without having to enter a password (although the data isn't formatted in table format)? I currently use foxpro and know that there is no security in the foxpro database, but if the OS is the only security that keeps access away from a Mysql table, how is Mysql different?
