Uninstall MySQL on OS X

I have installed two different version of MySQL
- MySQL 4.0.24
- MySQL 4.1.11
After that I decided to uninstall them to perform a new clean install of 4.1.11
I have deleted both
- MySQL 4.0.24
- MySQL 4.1.11
in /usr/local/
But after a reboot ( and nothing in the Startupitems folder) MSQL.prefPane still says "The MySQL Server Instance is running" and I cannot use the "Stop MySQL server" buton as only the "Start MySQL server" is available... And if I use it, I have this message "Could not startup MySQL Server. Reason: Internal error".
I also tried this
http://www.entropy.ch/software/macosx/mysql/remove-old-mysql.html but it is still the same.
