MySQL Forums :: Newbie :: Searching entries with similar words in database

I am making a search engine in php, and I need to find a suitable SQL query to make.

I have a table called 'Addresses' with two cols: Dates and Addresses.

One row may contain:

Date: 12/02/02 | Address: Gill Street. Some searches from users will be "Gill's st." or "Gills Street" or "Gill St."

Therefore I need a query which will find the most approximate hits, and return the rows to me.

Would be great if you could suggest a query for me.
