I'm sure you have tried this -- how many records are returned if the sql statement is used independent of this code and yes I understand that the value for $selected_assoc has to be hand coded along with the other parts of the sql statement.
Again, I'm sure, but just let me say I would display -- one way or another -- the value of $selected_assoc after the sql statement is run again just to be sure. I'd also display the content of $result.
I do not care for it when someone tries to tell me how to do basics but sometimes it helps.
