Strange connection problem I need help with

A customer has a simple network setup and I'm trying to install MySQL on it for him to use but I have hit a problem I've never seen before.

The machines on the network all use Windows XP Service Pack 1 and I've installed MySQL on one of them that they use as a server. I have setup a user with full administration rights from all machines on the network and using that login I can access the MySQL database from any of the machines without problem and read any data in the tables. However, I can only change things in the database from the machine that MySQL is actually installed on! I have even created new users with full privileges and still the same action.

Does anyone have any idea what might be going on? Could it be some file permission problem on the XP machine?

Thanks

Tim
