Yes, you can store graphics in MySQL, however, unless you have a situation where you need to spread graphics across multiple web servers (in a web farm situation), I wouldn't recommend doing so. Use the filesystem and the web server for what they're designed to do. Store the path to the image in the db and retrieve directly through the filesystem.
