MySQL ODBC Connector

Hi, a newbie here, I need to find out how I can create a connection from an MS Access database on my local PC to the tables that are stored on my web server. I have tried but I can't seem to get it to work.

Firstly my PC:
Windows 8.1 64bit
MS Access 32 bit

My web server:
Runs WHM/cPanel
CENTOS 6.5 x86_64 standard
Multiple accounts
5 IP addresses
The site that I want to connect to has its own IP address in that range
Server: Localhost via UNIX socket
Server type: Percona Server
Server version: 5.5.30-30.2-log - Percona Server (GPL), Release rel30.2, Revision 500
Protocol version: 10
Server charset: UTF-8 Unicode (utf8)

I have downloaded the two different
mysql-connector-odbc-5.2.6-win32.msi
mysql-connector-odbc-5.2.6-winx64.msi

When I install either of these and try to connect to a database on my web server I can't get it to work...always comes up with an error no matter what parameters I use...In fact I am only guessing what the parameters are as this is out of my knowledge set...what do I put in IP/TCP Server or which user and password do I use, what port do I use etc

If anyone can help (in very simplistic terms) it would be greatly appreciated
