Running MySQL is technical, unavoidably technical. Until you soak up a substantial dollop of that tech knowledge, be prepared to be chronically frustrated---you won't be able to run MySQL, it's as simple as that.

Ditto for PHP and the server software (eg Apache) that PHP requires.

If you've little microcomputer background, consider starting with a course on how to use your computer that includes how to run server software like MySQL and whatever web server you have installed. There are many websites like that, eg http://www.homeandlearn.co.uk/php/php1p3.html.

Then take your time working through the introductory chapters in the manual.
