mysql as document server

Hello,
we are thinking about storing 560 Gb of documents (pdf, rft, doc) by a growth of 30 Gb per year in a database. The file system is running out of inodes and we can't heardly detect duplicates.
What to do when using mysql? Is it a possibility or not? Special configuration required?
Basic conditions: performance does NOT matter, documents will be stored as zipped data, no search in documents required, metadata are already stored in mysql (and Opentext Collection server) database.

Thanks,
R.Jonas
