Thanks Barry...I will give that version a try later tonight...I will post tomorrow how I made out.

Yes, I agree, backups are so much easier...I inherited this problem when the server crashed...apparently it just sat in the corner and hummed away for years and years and nobody gave it a second thought until it stopped working.

A few weeks ago I didn't really know too much about Linux but now I am having to get up to speed in a hurry to help the Church get back on track.

Just one question about that MySQL 5.0.51a version....do you know if it has a GUI or is it command line interface like the Linux version? I am new to Linux and command line is not my cup of tea...I have enough trouble understanding DOS, let alone Linux.I guess I have been spoiled by the Windows GUI way of doing things.
