Oh thanks I was practicing how to create a dump file but instead of using mysqldump, i just typed mysql instead so was wondering if it has any effect on the database, as in
#mysql -u root -p db_name > db_name.sql instead of
#mysqldump -u root -p db_name > db_name.sql
what does the first statement do ?
