PROBLEM WITH DATA INSERTION

I have a table named ** test ** with fields Id (int),08:00-08:55 (varchar(150)) .
Am trying to insert a new row with this command *** insert into test (08:00-08:55) values ('someValue); bt the command fails.
The server replies with an alert for syntax error..
What could be possible reasons for the failure..?
