botched data post-upgrade
Hello,
I upgraded from 5.1.59 to 5.6.20 (on os x 10.7.5). I have a few databases which I've used for autodidactic purposes and which I neglected to prepare (dump?) for access post-upgrade. While they have no critical data, I would like to resurrect them if it's possible. I have copied the folders, e.g., /usr/local/mysql-5.6.20-osx10.7-x86_64/data/dev_data_01 into /usr/local/mysql-5.6.20-osx10.7-x86_64/data/, and they are listed under SCHEMAS in the Workbench, including the tables therein. However within each of the copied schemas, the tables, views, stored procedures & functions all 'could not be fetched'. How can I repair this situation without blowing out the default schemas in the new install? I have tried - after backing up the new data folder - copying the contents of the old data folder into the new, hoping this would enable me to execute a proper dump or export, but then the server wouldn't start with the old data.
Thx
svs
