Thank you Phill.

I'm using a js Datepicker which I assume is returning a string, so your advice is pertinent and much appreciated. I've learned that one possible solution to my orig problem is to build a parameterized query, so I'm going to focus first on that, (which I'm told can resolve the data type issues, and address injection too). I'm all ears if anyone here has any insights, suggestions or examples. In any case I will definitely revisit also the date formatting as you suggest.

Cheers, svs
