Hello. We were trying to upgrade From MySQL 5.5.37 on Red Hat Enterprise 6.5 64bit.
After the upgrade I have following version info.

mysqladmin --version
mysqladmin Ver 8.42 Distrib 5.5.40, for Linux on x86_64

mysql> show variables like 'VERSION';
+---------------+------------+
| Variable_name | Value |
+---------------+------------+
| version | 5.5.37-log |
+---------------+------------+

Am I correct in assuming the upgrade did not complete properly?
I am not sure the steps that were taken as they were performed by our Linux admin.
I am collecting that information now.
Is there specific documentation that can help me with this?

Thanks for your help.
Mark G.
