Re: uninstall crashes
You need to clarify what you are up to here.
You began with "MySQL stopped working, so you tried to uninstall it and that failed, so you used Windows Add / Remove Programs to uninstall MySQL". OK?
You tried to (re)install MySQL and that failed, so you you want to know how to remove all traces of MySQL. OK?
I outlined how to stop and REMOVE the MySQL service if it was still there.
You now say you stopped the MySQL service. ?
If you had uninstalled MySQL, then the service could not have been running, though still listed in the registry.
So, let's try again.
What is the current state of the machine?
Is MySQL installed?
Is there a MySQL service listed in the service list? If so, what state is it in?
Good luck,
Barry.
