mysql run slow

I just import a largo no. of data to mysql db , verstion 5.1 .

Now I found the SQL query is slow , I known from "show processlist" that every time run SQL query , it will copy something to tmp table "Copying to tmp table" , it takes around 15 seconds , it seems very slow as the query is very simple .

I just would like to ask that run each query copy data to tmp is normal or not ? if not , how to fix it ?
