I ran "yum update mysql-server" and brought it up to date (one slight version increase). No success.
Now I will have to return the database again because the webpage can not even read the database even though the "myisamchk" program says there are no errors. The mysql error issued when the webpage tries to read the database ends like this.
"MyTable" is marked as crashed and should be repaired.
So it is looking more and more like the disk is the problem considering that the latest MySql is running. The version is 5.5.43 as shown from the help below.
