Peter,
Thank You again! I edited my source file, removing the "\" from all records. It loaded fine.
I will continue to upload new data, and no doubt I will run across this same issue going forward so I've followed your recommendation to use the LOAD DATA LOCAL INFILE. I've tested that as well using a new source file. It loaded all records successfully.
