Thanks Peter and Rick. The issue of sub query returns more than 1 value got solved by adding limit 1 within selects ,this has solved only a partial of the problem that is , my intermediary table(change_bit) gets updated correctly but the op table (archieve)does not.The problem that occurs is for duplicate values of R_id (i.e same values of R_id from records and records_1 table).For same values of R_id,there is no output in the output table. I am unable to fix it because even though adding a condition of 'b' to avoid duplicacy and conflicting rows of two tables records, records_1, still the problem persists.
