Not sure where you're getting that, being that the 10.7.5 release, which was the *last* 10.7 release, was in February 2012.
I have nothing to do with our decisions regarding platform support, and I'm not a Mac user so I'm not directly affected by this, but--considering that Apple do a new OS X release every year or so--3 years for 3rd-party support seems pretty reasonable to me.
