Newbie MySQL Table update trigger.

Hi

Am new the whole SQL thing. Am more of a Ms Access but studying the feature, advantages and pros of MySQL i was impressed with it.

Said so i am planing to move our department Access Database to MySQL. So far i've managed to migrate the existing access db to MySQL on a test environment.

My question regarding MySQL how can i update a column in a table after it is inserted or is there a way to display the primary key (from Access forms) before the record saved ?

If inserting i need to check for a few conditions before inserting

IF DRID_FK = NULL THEN DelID_FK = DelID (this ID should be form the previous record) Else <nothing>
