I liked the way you used the group_concat makes it more understandable as it lists the countries in their respective regions.

You saved me a lot of headache.I have been on this question since last week.

Sorry i posted the world database, for some reason i cant create a MysQL table for forums from sqlfiddle.com. Which software did u used to create the mysql table for your post?

I have just got one more question:

from the country table if i want :

A list of the names of all countries whose surfaceArea is greater than that of all other countries in the same region, how can i go about this ?
