Ok... never mind... now it works.. after I ran the insert ignore into TABLE (select * from table_hold).. it began working.. I guess it just needed a kick..i.e the insert statement woke up the BACKUP_LOG table (whatever that is) yeah, not exactly technical.. but it works now, so I'm going to pretend it didn't happen (until it happens again)... Thanks anyway...
