Advice: Very Frustrated

Hi all, I was wondering if I could get a little career advice. Recently I've been interviewing for MySQL DBA positions. The positions require a fairly good knowledge of Linux as well.

I used to be a Linux administrator years ago, so no big deal there. The problem is in the MySQL realm. I have an MS SQL and a MySQL background.

I've created databases, written queries for reports, etc. but it seems that when it gets down to the wire a more experienced candidate gets the position.

I consider myself to be at the junior level still. However, what should I study/practice on my own that would get me the position? Basically, what would give me more "seasoning"?
