"Delete" is a misleading description of that requirement--in SQL, "delete" apples to rows, not columns.

You seem to mean "soft dropping" or hiding of columns. It'snot built in, but it can be implemented by creating a View that does not display the column, and managing who has access to the View and to the underlying table.
