You do not seem to have grasped that I am unable to successfully reset my root password.
As I said at the start, I have tried every published method and they all fail.
That is why I want to delete those filesx that moght be causing the rejection.
Uninstalling -server, -client & -common program files an then reinstalling also fails.
I want to void undertaking a clean install again.
If ypu cannot answer my original question, please say so and I will not trouble you further.
