Not quite clear in the manual...

The way I get it if you have a server with a ( myisam ) table and
a server which declared the same table as federated, the second
server will do any access to the table through the first one using
a server API.
Is it possible and safe to make changes ( inserts, updates ) to the
table from BOTH servers ? I don't see why not, but the manual is
quite ambigous, saying:

> There is no way for the FEDERATED engine to know if the remote table has
> changed. The reason for this is that this table must work like a data file that
> would never be written to by anything other than the database. The integrity
> of the data in the local table could be breached if there was any change to
> the remote database
