Id also like to see something w/ the federated engine and some type of query cache, it is a great feature to have for dev/qa/staging environments or places where replication just can't happen over the wire to another db.
Isn't there anyway to patch a 'show master status' on the binlog to the main db and invalidate a cache? just an idea ...
