Closes/stops database when creating stored procedure

I am encountering a bad problem when attempting to create a stored procedure,
either in the query browser or administrator, after installing the latest version
of MySQL. Installing the latest versions of the query browser and administrator did NOT help. I did NOT encounter this when using version 5.0.7. where everything worked fine.

First of all: I can't see any of my stored procedures in the query browser, now.
Luckily I have them backed up into a script I created so can recreate them.

However, the program will not allow me to create stored procedures now either
in the query browser or administrator. When I try, it gets to 22% done then
loses the connection with the database then closes it.

All of this worked fine under the previous version.

I tried this in a brand new database, thinking that the problem was incompatibility:
however it did not work there either.
