I received the same error message the first time the Configuration Wizard tried to start the service, so I deleted the service through Configuration Wizard (Remove Instance option) and re-ran the Configuration Wizard. It just worked fine for me.

OS: Vista Ultimate x64
Install Directory: C:\Program Files\MySQL (Default installation directory)

Options: Reply•Quote
