MySQL Forums :: Install :: mysqld ends instantly

After installing MysQL 5.1.4 on our iSeries I am unable to get the daemon to start. I get the following message:

091103 08:28:11 mysqld_safe Logging to '/QOpenSys/usr/local/mysql/data/LAB.armp.org.err'.

091103 08:28:14 mysqld_safe Starting mysqld daemon with databases from /QOpenSys/usr/local/mysql/data

091103 08:28:15 mysqld_safe mysqld from pid file /QOpenSys/usr/local/mysql/data/LAB.armp.org.pid ended

The contents of my error log are listed below:


091103 10:06:12 mysqld started

InnoDB: Error: pthread_create returned 11

Can anyone point me in the right direction?
