Registration proccess is very slow - up to 2 minutes.

Hi guys.

I have a serious problem. When a user registers on my site: http://thebagshop.de
The registration page hangs for 1-2 Minutes, but then the registration is successful.

Its joomla 2.5.4 on ubuntu 11.04.
mysql Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.1.61, for debian-linux-gnu (i686) using readline 6.2

This is very bad considering this is a eCommerce site.

I suspect this is an issue with the database, but I have unfortunately litle experience with mysql so I don't know where to even begin troubleshooting this.

I got no replys on the joomla forum, hope I have more luck here.
Please let me know if you know how to approach this problem.
