ERROR 1524 (HY000): Plugin 'Y' is not loaded

Hi,

I have mysql 5.5.18 version setup on my Mac 10.6.x laptop. If I login using sudo (root) everything works but I noticed I can't use any command-line 'mysql' when I'm logged in as myself. The error that I am receiving is:

ERROR 1524 (HY000): Plugin 'Y' is not loaded

I tried doing a search but could not find anything about that particular error. Can something help me?
