Thank you Barry. I just found out by chance that two VMs can start up one MySQL instance at the same time. However, I did not see any document about one and therefore would like to know its impact. Your answer makes sense to me. I think MySQL should not allow another server to start up the running MySQL instance. (in the same server, it cannot). Your reply is appreciated!
