installing Mysql on secondary partition of hard disk or external hard disk

Hi, I am new to mysql and due to space constraings, I wanted to know if I can install and run mysql server and workbench from a secondary hard disk partition of windows (i.e.any other drive other than system drive C) or from an external hard disk.
