Re: Overriding histignore instead of appending?
While I'd still like to know if there's a supported way of overriding histignore, I found the default setting is visible with strings mysql, so I just used a hexeditor on the mysql binary and changed PASSWORD to XXSSWORD. Problem solved! :-)
