Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client"

I see there is many folks talking about solutions here and maybe someone has covered this but there is a bug where setting "use old passwords" does not work. Basically I found that the password in 4.1.18 forward will not support passwords starting with numbers "0-9". Has anyone else experianced this? I have tested it over and over and the same results every time.

I hope this helps someone, Tim
