Checking/Fixing Archive tables?

I was told that you could use myisamchk against an archive table during a recent webcast, however I've had no luck; I'm simply told that the file I'm checking isn't a MyISAM table, which is quite correct.

Has anyone had any luck checking archive tables from the (OS) command line (i.e. not using REPAIR TABLE...)?

cheers

Jamie
