Re: Star joins?

Umm, having the optimizer understand and deal with star joins would facilitate a business intelligence (BI) tool's push data operations down into the database, close to the data, as an alternative to either creating overly complex and slow queries or bringing data into the middle tier and doing the operations there. So no, I didn't answer my question, are there any plans for the MySQL to understand star joins, although that you don't know of any suggests that there aren't any such plans.
