I would like to be able to configure/build mysql to work under /usr/local/mysql, but I would like to install it under /home/jhodge/mysql-5.0.xx I would then move that directory to /usr/local/ and symlink mysql to the new build. Is this possible via configure options, or another way?
If I configure it for /home/jhodge/mysql-5.0.xx and move it to /usr/local/ it will not start.
Building under Linux, thank you for your time.
