Thank you for your reply. I added the include because I saw the error which failed at a line about time.h. I found it in /usr/include so I thought I would try that to see if it just couldn't find it.

I stopped at 5.1.57 because I believe it was the last before I needed cmake. Years ago when I was upgrading on another server, that was where I stopped.


I understand that I may not be able to install 5.6. There are replication issues that are preventing that as well. I may stop at 5.5.19, which is the latest I have installed on other servers. I am testing upgrades as far as I can go on the Solaris 8 box. This will soon be retired.
