I've set out to learn to model and normalize databases. All the tutorials read and vids I watched were based on coffee shops or bookstores. As if those are the only two entities that need databases. While helpful they are not very challenging so I decided to model a database after an election. I would appreciate if someone could point out the strengths and weaknesses in this normalized model.
PK=Primary Key
FK=Foreign Key
This is the base from where I broke out the tables
STATE STATE ABBREVIATION DISTRICTCAND ID# INCUMBENT INDICATOR (I) CANDIDATE NAME (First) Candidate Name (Last) CANDIDATE NAME TOTAL VOTES PARTY PRIMARY PRIMARYRUNOFF GENERAL GENARALRUNOFF
