HEY thanks for the great explanation, I'll read through your rants. I'm aware of the performance hit, fortunately this system is really straight forward on it's data and there isn't any heavy searching going on data is almost all sequential the monstrous amounts of data repetition, which is why I tried to go the normalized road like this.

many of the entity have a fluctuation attribute list, using your example with movies depending on the data profile, I mean need everything from the actors to every person on the crew in every department by department and pull the same data back from the parent company.

If I stored with columns by entity It wold be upwards of 20 column and constant "add this one" every other week since the profile's data set expands often and other metrics are added.

thanks for the input I'll do some testing on alternate methods!
