Ho capito.

Credo che non sia necessario reinstallare mysql, se hai eliminato il password, poi dovrebbe essere conosciuto. Sembra che bisogna solo sistemare il configurazione dov'è il password di mysql che phpmyadmin e jooma usano.

Non so perché mamp non l'ha fatto automaticamente.

Se vuoi non aspettare troppo, forse reinstallare mamp sarà piu veloce, oppure forse posso spiegarti come trovare i file.

Aprire il Terminal
scrive: find / -name config.inc.php
Quanto trovi dov'è il file, aprirlo con TextEdit

ci sarà un parte come:
$cfg['Servers'][$i]['auth_type'] = 'config';
$cfg['Servers'][$i]['user'] = 'root';
$cfg['Servers'][$i]['password'] = '';

prova con quello linee, é necessario fare il password assomiglia quella. Se c'è una parola tra le '', eliminarlo. Poi PhpMyadmin dovrebbe funzionare.
