Direi che la causa per questo crash e' o un bug o una problema con tuo hardware.
Ho trovato due bugs che forse descrivono tuo problema:

La prima decrive un problema quando si usa INSERT LOW PRIORITY e poi un SHOW TABLE STATUS;
La seconda descrive un problema quando il rato di INSERT e' molto alto in generale, e poi si prova a fare un SHOW TABLE STATUS.
Per altro, no lo so, controlla tuo hardware, specialmente il RAM; se vuoi, mettere piu di tuo .err file, forse ch'e' piu informazione del problema.
Non dobrebbe essere necesario di separare questi database, mi pensa.
