MySQL Proxy: MySQL Hosting, MySQL Container

we plan to deploy a mysql hosting product similar to mediatemple.net mysql container.
therefore we would need something to route mysql users to a specific
ip/port pair.
all users on the cluster access the mysql services through the same ip
1.1.1.1:3306 and mysql proxy routes every user to the right mysql instance.
loadbalancing/failover and read/write spliting in combination with this would allow
us to offer a scaleable, secure and predictable mysql hosting platform.
thanks
alex
