MySQL config issue on Centos VM

Can anyone help with the following issue:

I installed a guest centos machine on a Windows Pro localhost using VM server 1.0.6, i was able to configure the Server (mysql) to using TCP protocol when connecting and also compile a config file for the 2 instances i will be running and also compile the start and stop scripts.

The problem is that when trying to start the mysql server the process stops half way and issues the following error: /etc/ini.d/fnb_mysql: line 7: --password=x:command not found

please help

thank you in advance
